Southern Hills Preservation Corporation is a certified HUD Counseling Agency. We offer individual pre-purchase counseling as well as homebuyer classes leading to a certificate required by USDA Rural Development for its direct loan program.

Also offered are foreclosure prevention and post-purchase counseling for homeowners who need assistance with keeping and maintaining their homes.

Applications are now being taken for a new round of grants for first-time homebuyers from the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation. If you are eligible for the program, you may receive up to $30,000 toward the purchase and renovation of a home in the Southern Hills service area. Eligibility requirements include attending the class for first-time homebuyers, income eligibility, and ability to obtain a mortgage. You do not need to live in the service area, but the home you plan to purchase must be in the service area. Please call the office for an application, 315-677-3863.
